Frightful Farm Fest at Newton Farm Holidays

Throughout October

Things are getting spine-chilling at Newton Farm Holidays this October with their hair-raising Frightful Farm Fest! Dare to join for a hauntingly fun experience that will leave you thrilled and trembling.

For the brave, there’s the after-dark, adults only Haunted Harvest Terror Tour. This guided night time walking tour will be filled with suspense, scares and screams. Come explore the farms dark history if you dare, beware the spirits and animals that you may awaken……

For families, there's the Freaky Farm Tour, a Halloween twist on the classic Newton farm experience. Perfect for all ages, this tour shares spooky facts and folklore about the farm and its animals, with plenty of photo opportunities along the way.

Both experiences are available throughout October.

Pumpkin Trail at Duffus Castle

Saturday 26th - Sunday 27th October

A ruined castle and pumpkins... is it possible for something to scream more Halloween?!

Come down to Kula Coffee Hut on Duffus Estate and search around the 12th century ruins of Duffus Castle for the hidden pumpkins! With the wide-open skies of Moray and the rolling fields around Duffus Castle you can enjoy being outside with a hot drink and a fancy piece, making memories and sharing the fun together.

Buy your tickets for the Pumpkin Trail at Kula Coffee Hut and receive a copy of the trail and a small wooden gift once you are finished. All proceeds from go towards Duffus Estates’ charity of the Year, Outfit Moray. So come a long, find your pumpkins and support a fantastic local charity at the same time!

Spooky Pumpkin Hollow at Upper Dysart Larder

Throughout October

Join Upper Dysart Larder from Friday 4th to Thursday 31st October for a frightfully fun experience at Spooky Pumpkin Hollow!

Explore a magical pumpkin patch filled with pumpkins of all shapes and sizes, perfect for picking. Little ghouls and goblins can enjoy crafts, colouring and lots of spooky photo opportunities!

Don’t miss the chance to meet the friendly farm animals, including the new adorable miniature Shetland ponies and their foals, a perfect addition to your Halloween adventure!

Make sure to visit the larder, stocked with delicious Halloween-themed treats to enjoy during your visit or take home. For the grown-ups, you can enjoy Pumpkin Spiced Lattes, Maple Hot Chocolates or create your own autumn-inspired hot drink!

Upper Dysart Larder

Autumn Adventure Days ay Byres Farm

Throughout October

Come and enjoy a day of autumnal fun throughout October at Byres Farm. As well as the usual animal feeding, toys and pedal tractor, there will be a range of Autumnal activities and attractions to keep you entertained!

Discover the exciting new pumpkin trail, get creative with autumn crafts, test your skills with a challenge sheet, snap some fun photos, explore autumn sensory tables, enjoy a picnic, toast marshmallows, and tackle the brand-new straw bale climbing frame!

The event runs from 10am - 4pm, but feel free to arrive and leave whenever you wish for the ultimate relaxed family day out.

There is also optional farmland walks available, so wellies or stout footwear is recommended.

Byres Farm

Halloween Hack at Lindores

Sunday 27th October

Lindores is thrilled to welcome you back for their annual Halloween Hack in partnership with Glenrothes Pony Club. Starting from 10am, riders of all ages can enjoy a fun-filled hack across Lindores’ stunning farmland and cross-country course, all decked out with spooky Halloween decorations. Plus, there are prizes up for grabs for the best fancy dress costumes, so get creative!

For those not riding, there’s still plenty to enjoy! Take part in the carved pumpkin competition - a perfect activity for the whole family. After the hack, everyone can tuck into warming soup and rolls, with delicious home baking, tea, and coffee also available.

Whether you’re on horseback or cheering from the sidelines, it’s a day not to be missed!

Bonfire & Burgers at Ernespie Farm

Friday 1st November

Although not strictly Halloween related, it’s hard to resist burgers with a bonfire!

After the success of last year’s event, Bonfire & Burgers at Ernespie Farm is back by popular demand! Bring your whole family and enjoy a relaxed evening of great company, delicious food and lots of fun.

Enjoy Burgers, Hot Dogs and Pizza to keep you warm on a cold November night. Plus there will be sweet treats and plenty of hot and cold drinks. And for the lucky non drivers, there will be beer and wine available!

This event is dog-friendly with no fireworks due to nearby livestock. Your Bonfire & Burgers ticket includes children's access to soft play from 5:30pm, with the bonfire lighting at 7pm

Mini Highland Games at Bowbridge Alpacas

For something a little different this Halloween, join Bowbridge Alpacas for their first-ever Mini Highland Games!
